100% Wool: Cashmere and Merino

  • 15 years ago, POSCO began understanding leather from the inside out. How it's tanned, how it ages, what makes it last. That same curiosity brought us here. After years, it made sense to add something new. Today, cashmere and merino are part of what we do, with the same approach we started with.

100% Cashmere

  • Cashmere is one of the rarest natural fibers in the world. It comes from the undercoat of goats that live in extreme climates, where they develop a very fine inner layer to protect themselves from the cold.

  • It is obtained once a year, in spring, when goats naturally shed their hair. They are not shorn: the fiber is collected by hand, following its cycle. In this process, the finest hair is separated from the rest. Only a portion makes the cut. That's where the quality is defined.

100% Merino

  • Merino wool comes from sheep that live in demanding climates. To adapt, they developed a fiber that is finer and more flexible than traditional wool. This is noticeable in use: lightweight, non-itchy, it maintains temperature without generating excess heat.

  • Merino wool is obtained through shearing, a process repeated annually. Not all wool is the same: quality is defined during selection and spinning. It's a material that performs over time, is used frequently, requires little washing, and maintains its properties.

From the origin

  • The fibers we use come from small, specialized producers in Mongolia who have been working with this material for years and know every stage of the process well. They respect the fiber's timing, animal welfare, and production methods, adhering to clear standards that aim to reduce impact. With cashmere and merino, as well as with POSCO, what matters is not only how it feels, but how it's made.
