Worn in by the band’s energy

Indios was born in Rosario, in the Fisherton neighborhood, when this group of friends was still very young. From there to sharing the stage with Calle 13, Sonic Youth, Babasónicos, Fito Páez and even Blur, and to winning a couple of Gardel Awards along the way. But beyond the festivals and the records, what holds the band together is something simpler: friendship.

“What we enjoy most about playing live, first of all, is that we’re really close friends, and the chemistry we have makes everything better,” Joaquín, the vocalist, tells us. It’s an inside code from so many years of playing together, of knowing each other from the neighborhood, that on the road turns into a heightened brotherhood: discovering places, food, cultures, and meeting people who sing their songs in another city, another country. “You never stop being amazed. There’s a lot of mutual gratitude on those trips.”

We asked him what inspires him to keep exploring music. For Joaquín, inspiration is something intuitive, something that comes from the outside. He’s moved by artists with perseverance, the ones you watch grow both artistically and in community, and also by records that surprise him: when a musician dares to transform, and the change brings good omens. “That transformation also expands you, it doesn’t pull you away from what you already have.”

And then, the shoes. We asked him to imagine his own as a song. “They’d be that one that plays at weddings, the one that makes you want to jump,” he says. “My shoes at the shows are worn out and weathered by the energy my band gives me.”

That’s the meeting point. Indios x POSCO is born from exactly that: from craft, from the years, from the things that get worn in with use and become your own. From walking and jumping and starting again, always with your friends by your side.
