Fernando Trocca x POSCO
We’re passionate about food, but above all about chefs and their stories, and Fer is one of our favorites. For many, the best in Argentina; for us, a driving FORCE that never stops inspiring us.
Our roots, always present.
For him, it all started in his grandmother’s kitchen. Her hands cooking, creating, mixing ingredients were the foundation of his passion and what led him to study gastronomy at 18. He trained with giants of Argentine cuisine, like Gato Dumas and Francis Mallmann, and at just 22 he dared to open his first restaurant, an innovative proposal that marked a before and after in the Buenos Aires food scene.
Not content with that, he decided to risk it all and move to New York. With no papers and without speaking English, he took over the kitchen at Van Damme. In case you didn’t know, Van Damme was a favorite among countless celebrities. There he cooked for personalities like Bowie, Eric Clapton, Robert De Niro and more.
100% LATINX, 100% IMMIGRANT, 100% PROACTIVE
Craving more and answering the call of his roots, he decided to return to Buenos Aires to open Sucre. Then he launched Orilla, a hit in the Belgrano neighborhood that also has its version in Miami, and Mostrador Santa Teresita, in José Ignacio and Montauk, our favorite place to go in summer.
Having said all this, we never imagined we’d become lifelong brothers the moment Paquirri, our spiritual guru and guide who always introduces us to talented people, brought us together. Fernando may have many titles, restaurants, books, TV shows and more, but he’s still faithful to his core values: simplicity, kindness and passion, the ones he learned when it all began, in his grandmother’s kitchen.
Thank you Fer for always opening the doors of your home and letting us be part of your incredible world. We’ll never forget you used to wear @grenson :)
HERE’S TO OUR NEXT COLLABORATORS AND TO THE NEXT PEÑA!
